In 2005 I started this site with the idea of sharing some of the tips and tricks I was discovering working as a system engineer for Wyse. I have always had, and still have, a passion for sever based computing. Not only does it make business sense but is also my way of contributing to make IT greener. Freewysemonkeys was an attempt to help everyone enjoy the simplicity of Thin Clients by making the set up a bit easier based on my experiences. (and a great excuse to spend hours in my lab building crazy little tools and packages for the site  )

Over the following years the response to this site has been amazing, with so many using this site and contributing to the content – a huge thanks for everyone’s support!

Last year I changed direction that no longer allows me to spent much time with Thin Clients, I am still dedicated to this solution and now work in the area of virtual desktop software (VDI). Many of you would have noticed that I have not posted on this site for a long time as my new job has kept me very busy. (Sorry folks – not enough hours in the day!)

Fortunately a very talented individual has taken up the challenge; ConfGen has been answering your questions and posting updates to this site over the last year. Like myself ConfGen is passionate about thin computing technology and worked in a number of businesses over the years in this industry, not to mention author of the Configuration Generator that so many have downloaded from this site. Today is the launch of the updated look for Free Wyse Monkeys and direction as ConfGen brings together technicalhelp.de and freewysemonkeys.com and will continue to moderate the site from now on.

Of course at the core freewysemonkeys needs YOU, to keep supporting this site and thin computing and I encourage you to keep posting and emailing great idea’s and content. From a humble little site that took about 30 minutes to build one long weekend on an open source web management system to now supporting 10K users every month - awesome.
